Access Changes Everything
Every May, Speech-Language Pathologists, Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants, Communicative Disorders Assistants, and Audiologists celebrate Better Speech and Hearing Month. This is a national campaign that shines a light on something many of us rarely think about: our ability to communicate. This year, Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC), has titled the theme, “Access Changes Everything.”

World Down Syndrome Day
Every year on March 21st (3/21), we recognize World Down Syndrome Day. This date was chosen to represent the third copy of chromosome 21, which is characteristic of Down syndrome. It is a day rooted in awareness, advocacy, and celebration. In speech therapy, we are reminded daily how powerful communication is, and how deeply every individual deserves to be heard, understood, and included.
