Our Land Acknowledgement
We want to acknowledge that Lear Communication resides on the traditional land and home to many First Nations, Metis and Inuit Peoples. The land is the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe Peoples, many of whom continue to live and work here today. We want to honour with gratitude the land itself and the people who have stewarded it throughout the generations.
As Speech-Language Pathologists and communication health professionals, we will listen to First Nations, Metis and Inuit Peoples, clients and their families when creating intervention plans. We will honour their culture and ensure cultural competence regarding their past, present and future endeavours. As a team of clinicians and administrators, we believe that everyone deserves a voice, and we will endeavour to work towards using our voices to advocate for those that had theirs taken away for so many years. We will uplift and empower First Nations, Metis and Inuit Peoples by incorporating works, stories and beliefs of their culture into all our intervention plans and to ensure that their voices will always be heard.
